How To Make Glass Cleaner

This week I was in full swing of cleaning the whole house. I mean the kind where the windows are open, music is playing, and the air just feels lighter. The kind where cleaning is enjoyable. I’m about to do the mirrors and go to grab the glass cleaner.

I’m out. Do I really want to stop and go to the store?

No.

Good thing all you need to make glass cleaner is alcohol, vinegar, and water.

To make it, you just combine three ingredients.

Rubbing Alcohol: The best alcohol to use would be the higher percentage but the typical 70% that you find at the store works great. Personally, I buy in bulk (a gallon) so I get 99% rubbing alcohol.

Water: Distilled is the best to use but if it’s unavailable, it’s okay to use filtered water. You basically want the least amount of shit in it.

Vinegar: Use white vinegar, the others will work but they’ll either leave a scent or the cleaner will be a different color and you may not want it accidentally getting on something.

Essential oil: Listen. You can definitely add some in and introduce different scents for your room. But keep in mind it’s oil; it is not only more viscous, but some oils are thicker than others and may leave streaks on the glass. It’s honestly just best to leave it out, but feel free to try things out.

In the end, it is so worth making your own. Glass cleaner should not be something with a million ingredients and high prices. Whether it’s little fingers or furry noses, glass is always being touched and needs to be clean and safe. Stop buying cleaner with extra dyes and garbage, decrease plastic, and save tons of money by adding this to your homemade products.
